I have been meaning to post this for a while. On Sunday 6th December I was present at St. Edwards Church, Kingstone for the launch of a book called Kingstone Remembers The GREAT WAR 1914 -1918 by Gill Brooks. The book is very well researched and formatted. The most exciting part for me, is that it features a soldier named Ernest Hyde, who is also remembered on the Wombwell memorial. He was brought up by his Grandfather who lived in Kingstone, while his mother resided in Wombwell. That is why he features on both memorials. The book priced £8 is very informative and well worth the money.
